Three Rules to Follow
- Be ready to learn, adapt, and change – The world of electronic media is constantly changing. New programs are developed, trends come and go, and the internet is a whole new playing field. In order to remain a contender in the workforce, you must stay on top and adjust to the new changes as they come.
- Be over-prepared and on your toes – Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, things can go wrong. Let’s say you work for a radio station and have written a set of scripts. For one reason or another, the papers end up dropping to the floor. If you labeled them all the correct way on the top, it won’t be hard to quickly put them all back together in order. In any field, there will be times where difficulties arise, and they must be resolved through hard work and imagination.
- Be open to discovering new things about yourself – A professor of mine combined her love of TV Production with Anthropology, and a documentarian was born. If you are open to new experiences and cultivate a love of learning, you might discover a whole new world you never knew existed. The job that is perfect for you could be an amalgamation of many different things, and in order to find that job or career, you must be open to new experiences, challenges, and opportunities.
